“It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.”
-Arthur Conan Doyle, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
Damon: “You know what would make me happy? To know that this entire time that I’ve been completely in love with you, that what you actually felt for me was real.”
Elena: “It is real. I know that it is, Damon. I know what you’re about to do. Please don’t do this to me.”
Damon: “I don’t wanna do this, Elena. I’m not the good guy, remember? I’m the selfish one. I take what I want. I do what I want. I lie to my brother. I fall in love with his girl. I don’t do the right thing… But I have to do the right thing by you.”
I am really bad. I aimed to do an Act of Kindness everyday and post about it and I stopped after eight posts. For the first few days, I didn’t have anything to write about. As I said in a previous post, it’s hard to distinguish what acts are seen to be kind, or what a normal would (or should) do. If I wrote about everything I did which was remotely kind I would just feel like I’m boasting about how good of a person I am. Therefore, I won’t be continuing with the AoK posts.
The second reason why I’ve been neglecting my blog is that I’ve been extremely busy with university and work. This semester has been so demanding, with weekly assignments, quizzes, revision, etc. and on top of that I had work all weekend. Today I had my last two exams and I’m finally free! I went to eat at La Favorita to celebrate; an Italian restaurant where I ate the lasagne which was really nice. The cake was unfortunately not. I spent the rest of my evening catching up on TV programmes I’ve been depriving myself of. I have 24 more episodes of different shows to catch up on!
Tomorrow I’m also starting my diet/healthy lifestyle again! I’m quite excited. I have been eating really bad recently and I’ve been blaming it on the university work load because I didn’t have time to work out, but now I do and hoping to see a change by the end of the year.
Oh, and I now have a brand new nephew! He’s almost three weeks old and I actually haven’t seen him or my niece since Thursday so I think I’ll go tomorrow to see their little faces.
Hopefully, with all this free time, I’ll be blogging more. I don’t usually have good ideas about what to write but I want this Christmas to be interesting and happier than the last.
I had a very weird dream that I was in a different school-like place and I was looking for shoes like in the stockroom at Clarks. I think I was working because I was sorting out the wrong shoes in the wrong boxes and then my colleague told me that I need to get Bea Karob (shoe name) because Balcony Scene (another shoe name) was in there and then instead I found a cat and it was giving me these really evil looks and then it pounced on me and started attacking me with its teeth. Someone managed to pry it off and told me it will stop attacking me if we show the public the previously filmed death of Jacob Ben Israel (Glee character who is a sort of sleazy reporter student at the school) and they were telling me he deserves it. So a plan was formulating and it involved an old man to be painting the door while hanging upside down and everyone just waiting for something to happen in a corridor. That’s when I woke up.
“Rain or shine, rich or poor, good times or bad, I am happy. Think of it: What more can I or anyone else truly ask for?”
– Dave Pelzer, Help Yourself
Almost everyone in the world probably has at least one look-alike, but it’s obviously easier to notice the celebrity ones because they’re in the public eye. Here are a few celebrities who look like they could have been separated at birth.
1. Neil Patrick Harris Vs Greg Rutherford
Many people noticed Greg Rutherford and how he looked like Neil Patrick Harris after he won a gold medal in long jump in the London 2012 Olympics. ‘Neil Patrick Harris’ was even a trending topic on Twitter with people commenting on how the actor who plays Barney Stinson in ‘How I Met Your Mother’ looked like Greg Rutherford, except that he was just ginger haired.
2. Katy Perry Vs Zooey Deschanel
When I saw the poster for ‘New Girl’ I honestly thought it was a new show starring Katy Perry but later I found out it was Zooey Deschanel and I was so shocked. These two look so alike but because I regularly watch New Girl and by being a fan of both of them, I can now tell them apart.
3. Ashley Cole Vs Kurt Couto
Kurt Couto, Mozambique athlete who competed in the Men’s 400m hurdles at the London 2012 Olympics looks very much like footballer, Ashley Cole. I noticed this similarity during the 400m hurdles and I wasn’t the only one as someone else mentioned it on Facebook not long after.
4. Matthew Perry Vs Shane West
Okay, the similarity isn’t very clear in this image but if you’ve watched ‘A Walk To Remember’ countless times and you are a ‘Friends’ fanatic like me you might notice it. I realised this similarity whilst watching Friends, especially in the first few seasons where Matthew Perry was younger.
5. Courtney Cox Vs Nelly Furtado
Courtney Cox, another Friends star who made it to the list, looks a lot like Nelly Furtado, the ‘Promiscuous Girl’ singer. The similarity in this picture is unbelievable! I think it might be their smiles.
Again this is not very clear to see in the picture but whilst watching The Five Year Engagement where Chris Pratt played ‘Alex’, I saw the similarity between him and ‘Friends’ and ‘Dinner for Shmucks’ star, Paul Rudd.
A lot of people have gotten these two mixed up and it’s not hard to see the resemblance. Daniel Radcliffe even spoke about it in an interview for GQ magazine, “I get constantly mistaken for Elijah Wood. I was in Japan and someone held out a photo of him for me to sign. I couldn’t say it in Japanese so I wrote, ‘I’m not Elijah Wood but thanks anyway, Daniel Radcliffe.'”
8. Mischa Barton Vs Jessica Tovey
‘The O.C.’ star Mischa Barton looks very much like Australian actress Jessica Tovey, and it’s not just in this picture. A few years ago I watched ‘Home and Away’ regularly, where Jessica Tovey played Belle Taylor and I had to double check to see if the actress wasn’t Mischa Barton.
9. Simon Baker Vs Nicholas Bishop
Here we have another ‘Home and Away’ star – Nicholas Bishop, who played ‘Peter Baker’ looks so much like ‘The Mentalist’ actor Simon Baker I thought they were the same person for about a year!
10. Matt Damon Vs Leonardo DiCaprio
Okay, not everyone will see this similarity, but I always saw it. That was until I watched ‘The Bourne Identity’ for the first time last week and whilst watching it I couldn’t really see it. I’m pretty sure that was the first Matt Damon movie I watched, and I probably couldn’t see the resemblance because both Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon are very good actors.
11. Carly Rae Jepsen Vs Michelle Tratchenberg
I saw this as soon as I watched the music video to Carly Rae Jepsen’s catchy single ‘Call Me Maybe’. I also showed other people the video and asked if she does look like ‘Gossip Girl’ actress Michelle Trachtenberg and they all agreed. I think the resemblance is due to their eye colour and their smiles.
Are there any other celebrity look-alikes you can think of?
